The National Home Care Owners Forum, a fictional trade group, says its annual home care owners conference drew about 1,200 owners and managers this year, its largest turnout yet.
What owners came for
Sessions on caregiver recruiting and Medicaid billing filled first, according to organizers. A workshop on pricing private-pay services had a waiting list.
Notable sessions
- A panel of four owners on keeping caregivers past the first 90 days.
- A walk-through of a sample waiver audit, start to finish.
- A session on preparing an agency for sale.
"Owners want practical answers they can use on Monday. We built the agenda around that," said forum president Gloria Hayes.
Next year
The forum says next year's conference will move to a larger venue and add a track for agencies with fewer than 50 caregivers.
